Australia SIM Card Reviews by Phone Travel Wiz

Australians are lucky with their telecom market.

While there are only three mobile operators in the country, Telstra, Optus & Vodafone Australia (TPG Telecom), there are more than 40 Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs).

As a result, the Australian telecom market is competitive, and the cost of mobile data is low.

Moreover, many mobile operators and MVNOs offer free international calls to at least 15 countries (Canada, China, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, the United Kingdom & the United States).

Awesome, right? I think so too.

Not all Australian MVNOs are accessible to you.

They either offer postpaid plans only, or you need to order them online.

Hence I cover the 15 easily accessible SIM cards in my Australia SIM card buying guide.

Anyway, I tried and reviewed most of the easily accessible Australian SIM cards back in 2020.

The thing is… I wrote those reviews a few months after starting Phone Travel Wiz.

And they are bad 💀.

Luckily, I am back in Australia now (writing this in June 2022), and I will stay until at least April 2023.

So I will have time to re-rewrite those reviews.

Update: I will visit Brisbane (Queensland), Canberra (Australian Capital Territory) & Sydney (New South Wales) in November. Afterward, I will write the updated reviews 😏.

I will not link the old reviews on this page (but you can easily find them by using the search function on the site).

Instead, I will update this page once I have tested the SIM cards again.

I will focus on these SIM cards first:

I will try and test those SIM cards all at once (a big comparison between the six SIM cards).

I will also compare them to the Australia (Yes! Go!) eSIM by Airalo, Australia eSIM by Nomad & Australia eSIM by Holafly.

Yeah, I have taken testing and reviewing to the next level compared to 2020 😏.
