Heading to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) soon and are looking for a SIM card? Or are you already in the UAE and in need of a new provider?
In this video, I will tell you all about Emirati SIM cards and tell you which one is the best! This video is for both tourists/travelers visiting Dubai, Abu Dhabi, or the United Arab Emirates in general, and those already living in the UAE planning on buying a (new) Emirati SIM card.
In the UAE, there are 2 operators: Etisalat (UAE) and Du. There are also 2 Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs), which are Swyp (the youth-brand of Etisalat), and Virgin Mobile UAE, who uses the Du network.
What do you need to know about mobile data in the United Arab Emirates? The prices for the quality you get and data allowances you get are alright. Both Etisalat and Du are partially owned by the Emirati government, which is 40% each, which means that there is no real sense of competition in the UAE. However, that does not mean that the Emirati operators are bad.
