International roaming may be the most convenient way to stay connected when traveling abroad because you do not have to switch SIM cards while traveling. But why does it have to be so EXPENSIVE? I decided to find out! Why is roaming so (damn) expensive? Telecom providers work out bilateral agreements to allow their customers to use each other’s networks. Your phone carrier pays the roaming carrier the agreed fee to enable you to use their network.
