Coverage – Tune Talk
Tune Talk is a Celcom Malaysia MVNO, meaning Tune Talk uses the Celcom Malaysia network.
To find out what to expect in terms of coverage with Tune Talk, jump to the Celcom Malaysia Coverage section in my Malaysia SIM card buying guide.
Note that you will not have 5G NR access with Tune Talk.
SIM Card Price – Tune Talk
You can get a Tune Talk SIM card, called Jimat, for 7 MYR from Tune Talk dealers.

Be aware: Tune Talk introduces a new SIM card (line) basically yearly (like most Malaysian mobile operators).
In 2021, it was called Tune Talk Value Prepaid (TTVP), which is slowly being discontinued (so if you read about this SIM card somewhere and are confused about me calling it Jimat – this is why).
Short-term visitors and tourists can also get the Tune Talk Traveler SIM card – Tune Talk's tourist offering.
The following two Tune Talk Traveler SIM cards are available:
| Price | SIM Card | Credit | Data | Validity |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 25 MYR | Lite Plan | 5 MYR | 5 GB 1 | 7 days |
| 50 MYR | Power Plan | 5 MYR | 10 GB 1 | 14 days |
1 +10 GB Basic Internet @ 64 Kbps (super slow!)

The Tune Talk Traveler SIM card can be shipped worldwide for only 12 MYR (2.60 USD).
- Find out how much SIM cards cost in every country, including data-only SIM cards and tourist SIM cards, offered by each mobile operator + information about starter benefits (lookup tool)

It is possible to get a Tune Talk eSIM for the same price as a regular SIM card.
Note that the Malaysian mobile operators require your identification (passport) for future eSIMs and for physical SIM cards.
You may want to get a travel eSIM for Malaysia, which can be cheaper than getting a SIM card from redONE Malaysia (in some cases).
Especially when getting an eSIM covering popular Asian destinations if you do not stay in just Malaysia or a global eSIM valid for up to a year if you want one eSIM to work practically worldwide.
My Malaysia eSIM buying guide analyzes various eSIM options of eSIM providers I have tested extensively worldwide.
Here is a quick introduction to them:
- Airalo: Sambungkan (Malaysia only), Asialink & Discover+ (130 countries worldwide + call and text feature) – use code NEWTOAIRALO15 (15% off – first-time users only) or AIRALOESIM10 (10% off)
- Alosim: Malaysia – use code PTW (5% off – no limits)
- Holafly: Malaysia – these eSIMs have unlimited data – use code PHONETRAVELWIZ (5% off – no limits)
- Nomad: Malaysia, APAC (up to 20 countries), SEA-Oceania & Global (up to 139 countries) – use code ADU123 (3 USD off – first-time users only)
For more information, such as the prices and data allowances, check out my Malaysia eSIM buying guide.

Note that Tune Talk offers VoLTE (Voice over LTE (4G)) if your phone supports it and you have enabled it in the settings.
Oh, you can also use VoWiFi (Voice over WiFi).
