Coverage – Yoodo
Yoodo is a Celcom Malaysia sub-brand, meaning Yoodo uses the Celcom Malaysia network.
To find out what to expect in terms of coverage with Yoodo, jump to the Celcom Malaysia Coverage section in my Malaysia SIM card buying guide.
Note that you will not have 5G NR access with Yoodo.
SIM Card Price – Yoodo
You can get a Yoodo SIM card for 3 MYR in Celcom stores (except for those at airports), BHPetrol gas stations & Patronas gas stations.

- Find out how much SIM cards cost in every country, including data-only SIM cards and tourist SIM cards, offered by each mobile operator + information about starter benefits (lookup tool)

It is possible to get a Yoodo eSIM for the same price as a regular SIM card.
Note that the Malaysian mobile operators require your identification (passport) for future eSIMs and for physical SIM cards.
You may want to get a travel eSIM for Malaysia, which can be cheaper than getting a SIM card from redONE Malaysia (in some cases).
Especially when getting an eSIM covering popular Asian destinations if you do not stay in just Malaysia or a global eSIM valid for up to a year if you want one eSIM to work practically worldwide.
My Malaysia eSIM buying guide analyzes various eSIM options of eSIM providers I have tested extensively worldwide.
Here is a quick introduction to them:
- Airalo: Sambungkan (Malaysia only), Asialink & Discover+ (130 countries worldwide + call and text feature) – use code NEWTOAIRALO15 (15% off – first-time users only) or AIRALOESIM10 (10% off)
- Alosim: Malaysia – use code PTW (5% off – no limits)
- Holafly: Malaysia – these eSIMs have unlimited data – use code PHONETRAVELWIZ (5% off – no limits)
- Nomad: Malaysia, APAC (up to 20 countries), SEA-Oceania & Global (up to 139 countries) – use code ADU123 (3 USD off – first-time users only)
For more information, such as the prices and data allowances, check out my Malaysia eSIM buying guide.

Note that Yoodo offers VoLTE (Voice over LTE (4G)) if your phone supports it and you have enabled it in the settings.
Oh, you can also use VoWiFi (Voice over WiFi).
Top-Up, Recharge & Balance Check – Yoodo
Packages, Plans, Bundles & Offers – Yoodo
Yoodo has three data-featured prepaid plans: Customizable Plan and its Add-Ons (combo and data add-ons) & Power Passes (data).
All Yoodo plans can be activated throught the Yoodo app.
I will list all the prices in MYR (Malaysian Ringgit).
To convert MYR to your currency (let's say SGD – Singapore Dollar) with up-to-date exchange rates, use the Wise Currency Converter tool.
Click on the links above to jump to the plan you are interested in.
Customizable Plan and its Add-Ons – Yoodo
Yoodo allows you to fully customize your plan. You can choose to be on 5G speed for an additional 5 MYR as well.
Do you want 200 GB of data (for 98 MYR)? You can get it.
Or unlimited data at slower speeds (6 Mbps)? That is also an option.
Do you not care about data, which I doubt, and want to call only? You can get 4000 local minutes for only 12 MYR.
And you can also set up how many SMS you want.
Instead of me writing down all your customization options, you are better off checking it out on the Yoodo site or app (if you already have an active Yoodo SIM card).

Especially when Yoodo has many add-ons you can purchase.

Power Passes – Yoodo
The Power Passes are data bundles with data (without 5G NR access).
| Price | Data | Validity |
|---|---|---|
| 2 MYR | 100 GB | 1 hour |
| 5 MYR | 100 GB | 3 hours |
| 15 MYR | 100 GB | 12 hours |
