Coverage – Ibon Mobile

Ibon Mobile is a Far EasTone MVNO, meaning Ibon Mobile uses the Far EasTone network.

SIM Card Price – Ibon Mobile

You can get an Ibon Mobile SIM card for 350 NTD with 50 NTD credit and unlimited data for 5 days OR 100 NTD credit and 1.2 GB of data for 60 days in 7-Elevens. Ibon Mobile SIM cards are not sold at airports, such as (Taipei) Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE).

While 7-Elevens can be found in every corner of Taiwan, many 7-Elevens do not have Ibon Mobile SIM cards (in stock).

Be careful: Ibon Mobile also has a postpaid line, which looks like this (gold):

Most salespeople will know travelers cannot activate this SIM card… but some have tried giving it to me because they did not know the difference.

Moreover, I recommend completing the application form online before heading to 7-Eleven.

Otherwise, the registration process can take up to 50 minutes (speaking from experience 🥲).

While Ibon Mobile does have eSIMs, they are (currently) not offered to those with tourist SIM cards.

You may want to get a travel eSIM for Taiwan, which can be cheaper than getting a SIM card from Ibon Mobile (in some cases).

Especially when getting an eSIM covering popular Asian destinations if you do not stay in just Taiwan or a global eSIM valid for up to a year if you want one eSIM to work practically worldwide.
