WTF Portugal, just WTF, is a youth sub-brand by NOS Portugal.
This means that you cannot be older than 25 years old to activate these SIM cards.
So if you are older than 26 years, aka a fossil (😜), you can choose any other SIM card on this guide (including Moche, a MEO Portugal youth sub-brand, if you stay in Portugal for fewer than 14 days, but not Yorn, a Vodafone Portugal youth sub-brand).
This is what you will learn about WTF:
* Coverage
* How to Get a WTF SIM Card & SIM Card Price
* Topping Up Options & Methods + Balance Check
* Plans & Packages
* APN/Internet Settings
Coverage – WTF Portugal
WTF is a NOS Portugal youth sub-brand, meaning WTF uses the NOS Portugal network and does not have its own mobile infrastructure.
To find out what to expect in terms of coverage with WTF, jump to the NOS Portugal Coverage section in my Portugal SIM card buying guide.
SIM Card Price – WTF Portugal
You can get a WTF SIM card for 10 EUR with 10 GB of data and 10 000 local/EU minutes/SMS for 1 month in Vodafone stores (yes, really) and from resellers, including grocery stores, gas stations & electronic shops.

- Find out how much SIM cards cost in every country, including data-only SIM cards and tourist SIM cards, offered by each mobile operator + information about starter benefits (lookup tool)

WTF has no eSIMs.
You can consider getting a travel eSIM for Portugal, which can, in specific scenarios, be cheaper than getting a SIM card from WTF.
Especially if you get a Europe-wide eSIM (for when you visit at least two or more supported European countries) or a global eSIM (for frequent travelers visiting multiple continents).
In my Portugal eSIM buying guide, I analyze various eSIM options of eSIM providers I have tested extensively worldwide.
But I will introduce them here quickly:
- Airalo: Fofo Mobil & MEO (Portugal only), Eurolink (39 countries in Europe) & Discover+ (130 countries worldwide + up to 200 worldwide minutes & 200 worldwide SMS) – use code NEWTOAIRALO15 (15% off – first-time users only) or AIRALOESIM10 (10% off)
- Alosim: Portugal & Europe (32 countries) – use code PTW (5% off – no limits)
- Holafly: Portugal & Europe (32 countries) – all variants in both options include unlimited data + up to 120 Europe-wide calls – use code PHONETRAVELWIZ (5% off – no limits)
- Nomad: Portugal, Europe (30 or 35 countries, depending on the variant) & Global (109 or 139 countries, depending on the variant) – use code ADU123 (3 USD off – first-time users only)
Once again, check out my Portugal eSIM buying guide to learn more about these eSIM options.

For now, I will continue with WTF.
Note that WTF offers VoLTE (Voice over LTE (4G)) if your phone supports it and you have enabled it in the settings.
Oh, you can also use VoWiFi (Voice over WiFi).
Top-Up, Recharge & Balance Check – WTF Portugal
Packages, Plans, Bundles & Offers – WTF Portugal
WTF has only one data-featured prepaid plan: Mobile Tariffs (combo). It includes data (with 5G NR access), minutes & SMS.
I will list all the prices in EUR (Euro).
To convert EUR to your currency (let's say GBP – (British) Pound (Sterling)) with up-to-date exchange rates, use the Wise Currency Converter tool.
Mobile Tariffs can be activated on the WTF app:
