Can I roam with Ufone?
Both Ufone Prepay and Postpay customers can roam around the world. Ufone Prepay customers can take advantage of several data roaming deals when traveling in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and Turkey. They can consider the Super Roaming Offer for Hajj and Umrah or SMS buckets when wanting to send SMS in Australia, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, and United States.

Ufone Postpay customers cannot take advantage of the aforementioned deals but can roam on Standard Roaming Tariffs, which are also available to Prepay customers.

Pay As You Go Roaming, or roaming on Standard Roaming Tariffs, are available to all Ufone Prepay and Postpay customers.
Receiving SMS is free regardless of your destination or Prepay Roaming Offer you are on.
Most buckets and offers can be activated through the Ufone Website, by calling Ufone customer support, or by visiting a Ufone store. However, dialing a specific number is the quickest activation method, which is shown in the steps below.
Ufone Prepay Standard Data Roaming
With Ufone's Standard Data Roaming, Ufone Prepay customers can data roam in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and Turkey at flat rates. Data roaming costs Rs. 0.1749 per 10 KB or Rs. 17.93 per MB (Pakistani Rupee – PKR).

Ufone Roaming Per Second Offers
Ufone has low call rates for Prepay customers when roaming in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and Iraq. Calling start at Rs. 0.36/min for calls within the destination and calls to Pakistan.
Ufone Prepay customers are automatically enrolled to the Roaming Per Second Offers, meaning that you do not have to activate to call at these rates.

- In Islamabad, AJK, Gilgit/Baltistan, and FATA, an additional charge 0.84% will be added on all services and packages, and 8.5% FED (Federal Excise Duty) and other taxes on bill/recharge will apply
- 19.5% FED on usage and other taxes on bill/recharge apply (other places than the aforementioned ones)

2. It can take up to 60 days before you can see these roaming charges on your bill. As a result, you may hit your credit limit unexpectedly a month or two after roaming abroad.

Is data roaming as a Ufone Postpay customer worth it?
Data roaming with Ufone is expensive. As a result, it should be avoided to prevent bill shock. Paying up to $24 per MB (around Rs. 3800) is simply not worth the cost. For $24, you can purchase a local sim that would get you more than 1 MB.
Sure, there are some cheaper destinations such as the United States ($0.14/MB with T-Mobile). But even then you would pay $143.36/GB, which is still too expensive.
You would be better off getting a local SIM card.
Can I roam on planes with Ufone?
Ufone Postpay customers can roam on planes with 7 airlines. On those airlines, you can call, SMS, and data roam, as long as inflight roaming is available.

Is Ufone Inflight roaming worth it?
Ufone Inflight roaming is expensive and not worth the high costs. Most airlines that offer inflight roaming offer onboard WIFI too. Those packages would be cheaper than inflight roaming.
Use an internet-based app like Facebook Messenger, Whatsapp, or Skype to stay in touch with your friends to save on costs. Or you could this as an opportunity to stay offline for a while.

Is Ufone Maritime roaming worth it?
Ufone Maritime roaming is expensive and not worth the high costs. Although roaming can be convenient, the costs will add up quickly. As a result, I would discourage to roam when on a cruise ship.
Use an internet-based app like Facebook Messenger, Whatsapp, or Skype to stay in touch with your friends if the liner provides WIFI access.
Even if you have to pay for internet access, it would be cheaper than to roam. Or you could this as an opportunity to stay offline for a while.
Is roaming with Ufone worth it?
Ufone offers its prepaid customers many options that make roaming worth it. The most affordable roaming options are the Prepaid Roaming buckets for Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and Turkey. Those are roaming options you could consider.
However, you can usually get a local sim that gets you more perks for the most expensive buckets. Usually, those who are roaming on a network experience slower speeds because the roaming partner prioritizes the network of its customers instead of those who are roaming on it.
The Ufone SMS buckets are fairly cheap, but restrictive because you can only SMS with those buckets.
Roaming on Ufone standard Roaming Tariffs should be avoided at all cost because of high charges. This counts for both Ufone Prepaid and Postpaid customers.
One thing that makes roaming attractive is that you can roam in many destinations and on many networks around the world, which makes it convenient if you are considering to roam while abroad. However, you should closely keep an eye on your usage, as you can get charged a lot quickly, even for accepting phone calls.
Previously, we determined that data roaming on Ufone Standard Roaming Tariffs for Postpay customers is too expensive, as you can get charged up to $24 (US Dollars – 3800 PAK) per MB.
Ufone Prepay customers can data roam in only three destinations, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and United Kingdom, and those rates are flat – Rs. 17.93/MB. Extremely cheap compared to standard data roaming tariffs.
In short, roaming with Ufone can be worth it when roaming in select destinations where Roaming Buckets are available. The value for the money spent is reasonable when purchasing a Roaming Bucket. Roaming on Standard Tariffs should be avoided, as those charges are way too high, especially when data roaming. In those cases, getting a local sim or an international sim should be considered.
