Austria SIM Card Reviews by Phone Travel Wiz

Austria, especially Vienna, is a travel destination that often gets overlooked.

Mostly because most travelers decide to hit the neighboring Czech Republic, Germany, or Italy instead.

But the country has a lot of fun things to offer, including the many prepaid SIM card options (fun, right? 🤓).

You have three mobile operators in Austria, A1 Austria, Magenta Telekom (formerly T-Mobile Austria) & Drei Austria.

And then you have more than ten Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs), although most are not worth your time.

In March 2022, I did a big tour around Europe, where I (re-)tested SIM cards of the big players in 13/14 countries: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Italy (+Vatican City), Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia & Spain.

I stuck with the Big Three in Austria: A1 Austria, Magenta Telekom & Drei Austria.

The issue with Austria is that you have to pay for faster speeds.

The more you are willing to spend on a plan, the faster your speeds will be (up to 150 Mbps download).

So if you are on a tight budget, you will get tight speeds 🥲.

Click on the links above or (the images) below to read the review of the mobile operator you are interested in.

Soon I will write a comparison post between the three Austrian SIM cards.

So stay tuned for that 😏.
